Cool August nights was mainly hot August afternoons. Katy Barglow showed Donna's horse Domino in the amateur Prix St. Georges at 2 pm when the temperature was hovering near 95 degrees. Their performance was sizzling hot however, and they won not only the class but the amateur FEI high point award. Al showed Winnica to ribbons and CDS qualifying scores at second level. Al and his mare have raced through the levels. They've only done two shows at training level, two shows at first level, and are now rapidly mastering second level. Jazzman won the Grand Prix but got a bit overexcited under the lights in front of a "Dressage Goes Hollywood" crowd. His piaffe and passage were electric, but some unauthorized "airs above the ground" dropped his score to "only" 70.7% and fourth place in a very tight class. Maybe jazz was trying out to be a stunt horse..."
