May 26-28, 2006
Katy Barglow and Uniek showed for the second time
at first level and won all four classes they entered. Uniek was also the Reserve
Amateur high score horse for the whole show. He still has his “baby
horse” moments, but the judges are now consistently giving him 8 on
his gaits. He has qualified for the CDS and USDF championships this fall.
Katy and Uni will spend the summer working toward third level and the FEI
6 Year Old Championships next year.
Saturday night, under the lights and in front of a vocal audience, Jazzman
proved once again what an incredible showman he is. He won the Grand Prix
Freestyle with a 72%, scoring all eights on artistic marks from judge Jessica
Ransehausen, except for an 8.5 on harmony between horse and rider. After the
victory lap, Donna, Steve, and Katy went to Kevin Costner’s Twin Palms
night club in Pasadena. The party continued through many martinis and into
the wee small hours of the morning, but never was there a better cause to
celebrate!
