2009 Dressage Getaway I. Indio, CA, Jan. 16-18, 2009

Donna brought out one of the Lusitanos consigned to her by Sucandi of Brazil. The five year old gelding Zidane made his horse show debut a success by winning three of his four classes. He was a little tense the first day but obedient. By the second day, he handled the busy show ring like a seasoned pro and scored 72% for the high point training level. The judges awarded his gaits a 7 and were particularly impressed by his walk (unusual for a Lusitano). He also scored 8 on submission and Donna received an 8 on riding.
Accompanying Donna was Leah Forrest on her mare Winnica. Leah made her debut at third level a successful one, achieving two wins, a second, and a third.
