Flintridge Dressage, May 27-29, 2005
The pressure was really on for Skyler and Jazz as Flintridge was the last YR selection trial and they had to complete the team test and the freestyle to be eligible for the Region 7 team. No worries: Jazz and Sky were really becoming a team and placed third by a few points in the team test with a 66.00% In the freestyle, Jazz proved he is still the quintessential showman. Sky rode boldly and allowed the horse to show his natural brilliance. They finished with a one handed extended trot down the centerline to a four square halt, still with the reins in one hand, and dead on with the music. The result was a win and the highest score given to any young rider this year: 74.5% from O judges Zang and Steiner and FEI judge Fore. Sky and Jazz are now on the Region 7 Young Riders Team and are on their way to Lexington, Virginia in July! Congratulations on earning the right to ride for the United States and good luck at the Championships!
